Position Summary

Reporting to SVP Card Program Management, the Senior Director of Disputes Product will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, development, and enhancement of our disputes and chargebacks product suite. Your expertise will drive the success of our product offerings, ensuring they align with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and customer needs..

What You'll Do

  1. Product Strategy and Roadmap Development:
  • Develop and execute the product strategy, vision, and roadmap for the disputes and chargebacks product suite, considering market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, legal, compliance, and sales, to ensure alignment and successful implementation of product initiatives.

      2. Product Lifecycle Management:

  • Drive end-to-end product lifecycle management, from ideation to launch, ensuring products are delivered on time, within budget, and with superior quality.
  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities for product enhancements and new feature development
  • Work closely with the design, operations and engineering teams having a deep understanding of the product development process and the ability to effectively communicate with technical teams.

      3. Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Stay abreast of industry regulations, card network rules, and compliance requirements related to disputes and chargebacks.
  • Work closely with the compliance and legal teams to ensure product offerings adhere to all relevant regulations and mitigate any associated risks.

      4. Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, industry partners, and card networks, to gather feedback, understand pain points, and prioritize product enhancements.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies, positioning, and sales enablement materials for the disputes and chargebacks product suite.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to internal teams and external clients on product-related matters.

      5. Team Leadership and Development:

  • Build and lead a high-performing product management team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, enabling their professional growth and ensuring their success in delivering impactful product outcomes.

What We're Looking For

  • Typically requires a minimum of 15+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 12 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 8 years experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and managing complex financial products or platforms.
  • Strong understanding of product development methodologies, including agile and lean approaches.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and influence key stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset, with the ability to analyze market trends and customer needs to drive product strategy and roadmap development.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and risk management in the financial industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Startup/high growth company experience with a proven track record of thriving in high-performing teams and fast-paced environments. 
  • Applies deep technical expertise of current industry and emerging technologies to provide insight and technical leadership to promote new ideas, innovative concepts and resolving critical issues. 
  • Uses extensive knowledge of theories, practices and design and is a key influencer in product research, product innovation and growth strategies.
  • Few employees exist at this level as there are significant barriers to entry including special approvals or “gates.”
  • Consistently works with abstract ideas. Through assessment of intangible variables, identifies and evaluates fundamental issues, providing strategy and direction. 
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of industry trends,  business strategies and the company’s goals.
