&lt;p&gt;As Marqeta’s Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) in the UK, you will report to Marqeta’s Chief Compliance Officer and be the first hire in Europe to build and lead our UK and EU compliance team. You have a passion for developing and implementing strong compliance programs. This is a highly cross-functional and strategic role that requires strong partnerships with our Go to Market, Product Management, and Legal teams as well as our bank partners to conceive and execute a strategy that ensures compliance while supporting innovation. You will serve as the MLRO in the UK but will also be responsible for building a team to perform compliance activities globally.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The successful candidate is a smart, ambitious, and experienced leader who can craft compelling narratives for Marqeta’s global compliance programs, understands the regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions, including the US, UK, and Europe, develops appropriate policies and procedures to support the product vision of Marqeta and our customers, and works cross-functionally to drive unified messaging and positioning within the organization and with our partners.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;h2&gt;What You&#39;ll Do&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Serve as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) in the UK, ensuring effective implementation of Anti-Money Laundering/Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) policies and standards.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Develop and maintain a robust compliance framework that aligns with regulatory requirements and industry best practices across the UK and EU, including establishing and maintaining risk-sensitive policies and procedures and controls to enable Marqeta to identify, manage, monitor and report any financial crime risks to which it may be exposed.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Ensure that Marqeta has in place effective systems and controls to identify, assess, monitor and manage money laundering risk and sanctions risk and exposure, associated with Marqeta’s customers and business activities in the UK and EU.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Respond to changes in relevant laws, regulations, and identify impacts across the enterprise. Adjust policy as necessary, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to provide training and guidance on implementation.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Support payment service license applications within the UK and EU.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Provide strategic advice to the business teams on product and geographic expansion initiatives in the UK and EU, while mitigating risk.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Provide support and guidance to the business lines on AML/CFT compliance policy, regulatory interpretation, and implementation.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Continuously improve standard compliance policies and processes to help scale the compliance function.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Collaborate with cross-functional teams across all lines of defense, including the Business Operations, Legal, Risk Operations, and Internal Audit teams, to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to compliance.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Work in partnership with other members of the Risk &amp;amp; Compliance and Legal teams.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Develop and deliver compliance training, including AML/CFT training, to enhance awareness and understanding of compliance obligations.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Partner with Marqeta’s other Compliance Officers and personnel to build a global compliance program.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Establish and maintain effective relationships with external regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other relevant stakeholders.&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;h2&gt;What We&#39;re Looking For&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Ideally 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably within a regulated payment firm (e.g. E-Money Issuer), in: AML/CFT Compliance and&amp;nbsp; Regulatory Management.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Previous experience as an MLRO or Deputy MLRO or demonstrable experience in a similar role.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Knowledge of the UK and EU AML/CTF legal and regulatory framework, including the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, Terrorism Act 2000, UK Money Laundering Regulations 2017 and EU 6th Anti Money Laundering Directive, as well as international AML and CTF standards (e.g. FATF Recommendations) and their application to payment services in the UK and EU.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Knowledge of current and emerging UK and EU payment systems regulation (e.g. PSD2 and 2EMD) and supervision within the UK/EU and ability to operationalize into a robust compliance programme.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Experience of communicating and interacting with external regulatory bodies in the UK and/or the EU.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast paced and dynamic environment with a high degree of personal accountability, quality, accuracy, integrity and trust;&lt;/li&gt;
