Position Summary
Marqeta is a platform for embedded finance. Our modern card issuing platform was one of the earliest enablers of Embedded Finance, starting with On-Demand Delivery, Digital Banking, Buy-Now, Pay-Later, Accelerated Wage Access and Expense Management. We were founded in 2010 to bring much needed innovation to a space that was dominated by legacy players. We came to the market with a sharp focus on card issuing, supporting debit, prepaid and credit cards. We’ve since expanded our solution set and built additional offerings with money movement tools and banking services, so we can give customers the complete solutions they need to build for the future.
At Marqeta, we have defined the modern card issuing category and powered new payment experiences. Top 50 World Most Innovative Companies at Fast Company and a Forbes FinTech 50 award winner, Marqeta had over $160+ billion in processing volume in 2022. Today, we have around 800 employees and we are certified to operate in over 40 countries. Our extensive partnerships with multiple banks and card networks including Visa, Mastercard, and Discover, and our solutions are used by innovators in digital banking, lending, e-commerce, on-demand services and more. Companies that have streamlined business payments and built payment experiences with our platform include Uber, Instacart, DoorDash, and Block, among others.
