As a Senior Product Manager in the Customer Experience Product Group, you will be responsible for helping scale Marqeta’s core APIs. You will build integrated and seamless solutions that empower our customers to leverage Marqeta’s platform to scale their card programs. This will include activities to own, manage, and evolve core APIs for cards and customers, and accounts. As a key advocate for your product area, you will lead & bring to fruition new initiatives by collaborating extensively with customers, partners, internal Marqeta teams, and 3rd party vendors.
We work Flexible First. This role can be performed remote within the United States or from our Oakland, CA headquarters. We’d love for you to join us!
What You’ll Do
- Partner with a dedicated engineering lead to define technological design and scope including architecture, APIs, data models, migrations and integrations.
- Influence and inspire a cross-functional team to reach ambitious goals.
- Evangelize adoption of shared infrastructure across product management and engineering organizations.
- Investigate complex problems and design simple solutions for them.
- Question assumptions, validate hypotheses, and define and measure key metrics for success.
- Writing and consulting on specs, managing design challenges, and taking the lead for promoting interoperability and scale.
- Deliver customer value iteratively, managing products through various launch phases and follow-on releases, while ensuring all product details are correct and shipped on time.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager working on shipping technically complex products and/or platforms.
- Strong payments background with processing or card profile knowledge.
- Experience working directly with engineering teams with a clear understanding of their tradeoffs.
- Excellent technical acumen, curiosity, and familiarity with new technologies, APIs, programming languages, and databases.
- Deep customer empathy and experience shaping product direction and execution.
- A Clear communicator, active listener, and cross-organizational relationship builder who can drive for results cross-functionally and influence others within the company.
- Define and translate a vision into detailed and actionable plans
- You have a bias towards action, are intellectually curious, execute efficiently, and are relentlessly resourceful
Nice-To-Haves
- Experience building infrastructure, APIs, tooling within a growth-startup environment.
- STEM or business undergraduate. MBA, MS or equivalent a plus.
- Fintech experience is a plus.
- Experience building self-service products
