As Marqeta’s Director, Sales, you will manage a team of sales and customer success experts and work closely with cross-functional teams at Marqeta. You will set the strategy to meet your team’s quarterly goals by expanding existing client programs and delivering new partners. You will mentor, develop and help grow your team from individual contributors to organizational leaders.
Our Enterprise sales teams partner closely with the most innovative companies in North America to deliver Modern Card Issuing and Processing solutions that help customers manage their finances, build wealth and economic stability. Marqeta is powering a transformation in payments as companies transition to providing innovative embedded financial solutions for their customers. We advise prospects and customers on the shifting payments marketplace, potential ways to innovate in the space, derive increased value from the movement of money and increase customer loyalty.
We work Flexible First. This role can be performed remote within the United States or from our Oakland, CA office. We’d love for you to join us!
What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement Card Issuing, Processing and banking solutions for Fortune 1000 customers in the Enterprise Sales Vertical ($1B to $25B in annual TPV). Cultivate relationships with key executives at prospects and internal partners to build a sustainable “pipeline” of opportunities and drive revenue growth.
- Deliver quarterly sales plans, V2MoM goals and develop joint business plans with key prospects and partners.
- Coach, manage, and grow sales team members, including client service personnel, analysts and sellers.
- Build a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and high-performing sales team by influencing the team's GTM strategy, hiring, team structure, culture, and sales processes.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and alignment with key partner teams, including Vetting, Delivery, GNSO, Sales Strategy and Operations, Banking Partnerships and other teams in sales globally.
- Operate as an integral part of the senior management team to deliver V2MoMs, GTM strategies and consistent sales processes.
What We’re Looking For
- 10 years of experience in sales, operations, or partner management.
- 5 years of experience in managing teams.
- Exp managing high performing sales team, consistently exceeding team targets
- Fintech knowledge/exp – Thought leadership, as demonstrated by industry expertise in Payments, Retail, Fintech and Banking, with an ability to influence in complex situations.
